Here is site I came across while surfing. You can make icons such as those that appear in bookmarks and in the browser address bar. It's free but you have to submit an email address:

And another that comes in handy when making a website. It is a free brilliant button archive where you can download the buttons:

umm its easy to adda favicon to your site =) all u need is a 16*16 or 32*32 bmp, upload it rename it to favicon.ico. then put a little link in the head tag of each page

i agree it is easy to add one. But this lets you design your own. It's not always easy for us of the older generation to design our own graphics, especially when we don't know what to use and how it's done.

Maybe this is for the person like me, who would only need to use it once in a while, to make one or two little graphics. I appreciate some of you are more experienced and have more advanced tools to use.

i made my favicon in msn paint ^_^ although its not uploaded at the moment, but yeah i do agree its a usful tool for those not experienced with pixel art.

You can make an favicon in some sort of program, I've forgot what it is. Let me look around for it.

These could be helpful, but I like making my own in Photoshop.
